Jupiter in 2027

Jupiter is the slowest of the benefics, spending about a year in each sign, so where it sits counted from your Moon sets the tone of the whole year. Income rises, older investments start paying, and friends or contacts bring something useful. Ambitions that have sat idle begin to move. 1 Jan – 31 Dec: Rahu in Capricorn, your 5th house

Rahu in the 5th is awkward for children, studies and judgement. Speculation is tempting and badly timed, which is the old warning against gambling during this transit, and it holds for anything that looks like quick money. Children may be difficult or take an unexpected direction. Think twice before backing an instinct.

Ketu in 2027

Ketu sits exactly opposite Rahu and moves with it. Where Rahu grasps, Ketu lets go. Its transit drains the importance out of whatever house it occupies, which is a loss in some houses and a relief in others.

1 Jan – 31 Dec: Ketu in Cancer, your 11th house

Ketu in the 11th is its best transit. Gains come with unusually little effort, older claims and dues get settled, and the right people appear without being chased. Ambitions resolve one way or the other, which is its own kind of relief. Whatever the harder houses cost you, this is where some of it comes back.

Vedha and murti: why a good transit sometimes gives nothing

A favourable transit is not the end of the calculation. Classical gochara adds two corrections, and this page applies both. Vedha means obstruction: when a planet sits in a favourable house from your Moon, one specific other house can block it, and while a planet occupies that house the good result is held back. Murti is the form the planet takes for a whole sign transit, read from where the Moon stood at the exact moment the planet changed sign, counted from your own Moon sign. The same ingress gives a different form to each of the twelve signs, which is why two people can sit under the same transit and get different years out of it. The Moon is left out of the obstruction check here: it crosses every sign each month, so counting it would mark almost every transit obstructed and tell you nothing.
